Frail seniors who need help getting the supportive long-term care necessary to keep their independence can use WCA's Family Care Independent Advocacy program. People over age 60 and their families receive confidential assistance that may help an elderly person return home from an institution, get off a waiting list for services, or improve their current Family Care plan.
Family Care Independent Advocacy services include:
- Evaluating an existing long-term care program to see if it is working;
- Attending a service planning meeting between an individual, their family and the care professionals to help raise concerns and work out disagreements;
- Helping with a complaint or grievance.
All individual advocacy services are provided free of charge.
